"But the certificate says VVS1..."
I hear this every week from clients who bought stones based purely on a PDF list from a trader. Then the package arrives.
The stone is VVS1 on paper. But in person? It has a black carbon spot right in the table reflection. Or a subtle blue nuance (Phosphorescence) that the certificate didn't mention.
Certificates don't tell the whole story. EYES do.
As-Grown HPHT diamonds are superior to CVD in color stability, but they are not immune to defects. The two most common "Silent Killers" of value are:
- Blue Nuance: Caused by Boron impurities. IGI/GIA certificates note this, but many traders filter it out of their lists.
- Metallic Inclusions: HPHT growth uses metal catalysts. Sometimes, microscopic metal flux is trapped inside. It might be graded VVS2 based on size, but if it's black and in the center, it kills the brilliance.
Our "Eye-Clean+" Standard
That's why today, my team and I rejected 12 stones out of a batch of 50. الكل were certified. الكل were "on spec". But none were good enough for our clients in New York and London.
At Kunlun Growth, we are not just forwarding boxes. We are your filter. We reject the "borderline" stones so you don't have to deal with returns.
