Fancy Color Diamonds (Pink, Blue, Yellow)

Expert answers directly from the factory floor.

How are pink lab diamonds grown?

Pink lab diamonds are typically grown using CVD with nitrogen-vacancy centers or post-growth irradiation and annealing. Achieving a vivid pink requires precise control of atomic-level defects.

Are blue lab diamonds natural looking?

Yes. HPHT blue diamonds get their color from boron, exactly like natural Type IIb blue diamonds. They look identical to the famous Hope Diamond's color.

Is yellow lab diamond cheaper than white?

Generally, yes. Yellow color comes from nitrogen. In HPHT growth, nitrogen is naturally present. Filtering it out to make colorless stones is harder, so 'fancy yellow' can be more affordable.

Do you sell Fancy Vivid Pink diamonds?

Yes. We have a limited supply of high-saturation Fancy Vivid to Deep Pink stones. These are extremely rare even in the lab-grown world.

Are colored lab diamonds treated?

Many pinks and reds are treated (irradiated/annealed) to enhance color saturation. Blue and Yellow stones are often 'As Grown' (color from Boron or Nitrogen during growth).

What is the price of a 2ct Blue Diamond?

Prices vary by intensity (Fancy Light vs Vivid). Generally, blue lab diamonds are priced similarly or slightly higher than D-color white diamonds due to scarcity.

Do colored diamonds fade over time?

No. The color is atomic (structural), not a coating. It will never fade, peel, or change, even under high heat.

Can you cut custom shapes for colored diamonds?

Yes. We often cut fancy colors into Radiants and Cushions to maximize color retention and saturation.

Are green lab diamonds available?

Yes, but they are rare. Green color usually comes from irradiation, mimicking the natural radiation process that creates green diamonds in the earth.

Do you have certified colored stones?

Yes. Our Fancy Color stones over 0.50ct come with IGI colored diamond reports stating color grade (e.g., 'Fancy Vivid Blue') and origin.

Is orange lab diamond rare?

Yes. Pure orange is difficult to achieve. Most orange stones have yellowish or brownish modifiers.

What is the best clarity for pink diamonds?

Color is king. We prioritize saturation (Vivid/Deep) over clarity. VS is excellent, but even SI is acceptable if the color is stunning.

Can I replace a white center stone with a pink one?

Yes, this is a popular upgrade. We can ensure the pink stone fits your existing setting's dimensions.

Do you offer calibrated colored melee?

We supply parcels of 1.0mm-2.0mm pink and blue melee for halo settings or pave bands.

How do you grade color intensity?

We follow GIA standards: Faint, Very Light, Light, Fancy Light, Fancy, Fancy Intense, Fancy Vivid, Fancy Deep / Dark.

Are blue HHT diamonds electrically conductive?

Yes! Because of the boron content (semiconductor), HPHT blue diamonds can conduct electricity.

Why are some pink diamonds brownish?

Slight variations in the growth or treatment process can leave a brownish modifier. We carefully select for pure pinks or purplish-pinks.

What is the most expensive lab diamond color?

Typically, pure red (Fancy Red) is the rarest and most expensive, followed by high-quality Vivid Pink.

Do black lab diamonds exist?

Yes. They are heavily included or treated stones that appear opaque black. They are very affordable and popular for men's rings.

Can I order a custom color gradient set?

Yes. We can sort a melee parcel to create an 'ombre' effect from white to light pink to vivid pink.
